Cheesy mozzarella sticks:

Welcome to Little Chef’s Apron! Today we’ll make something that I’m sure all of us love too much! Cheese! I’m sure all of us love that molten cheese that oozes out!

The sticks:

7-8 long cut mozzarella sticks

1/4 tsp grated garlic and a pinch of lemon zest

2 tsp oregano

2 tsp chilli flakes

1/2 cup all purpose flour

Water as required

5 -6 bread pieces

1/2 cup plain flavourless corn flakes

1 tsp salt

. First add 1/2 of oregano and chilli flakes, garlic and lemon to a bowl. Add salt and mix all the ingredients properly . You can add chopped green chilli to this but it’s optional .

. Then add mozzarella sticks in this and mix and coat it nicely. Let this sit in the fridge for 15 minutes.

. Meanwhile, cut the sides of the bread and it to a blender jar. You can also use bread crumbs but these are homemade ones.

. After making a powder out of them, crush the corn flakes, and add the powder to this. Give it a good mix and keep it aside.

. Then add flour , pinch of salt and then the left over seasonings. We are adding seasoning to this also so that the mixture wouldn’t taste bland when they are fried.

. Then add water slowly till it forms a lump free mixture like this.

. Then take one stick at a time and dip it in the mixture. Drop it in the corn flakes mixture and coat it well from all sides.

. Repeat this process again as we don’t want the cheese to come out.

. Add oil to a vessel and let it heat to medium hot. If you fry them on high heat then they will melt immediately and come out of the bread crumbs.

. Fry them on medium flame till the outer layer becomes golden brown.

. Serve hot with any sauce of your choice!

Do let me know about any suggestions or requests that you have. And what is your favourite type of cheese?
